Many of the cruise ships will visit Bermuda over 20 times in one cruise season, which lasts from April to November in Bermuda. Your choices for cruise lines are Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian Cruises, Carnival and Celebrity. There are other smaller lines that do travel to Bermuda but not as frequently.

In Bermuda, there are three major ports, but only two are large enough for the biggest cruise ships to anchor in. Therefore, most cruisers will dock either at Kings Wharf (West End) or St. George’s (East End).

Kings Wharf is located on the west end of Bermuda. At this port you will find activities such as the Royal Naval Dockyard and the Bermuda Maritime Museum. On the east end of Bermuda is St. George’s, which is smaller and quainter.

Since Bermuda is quite small, tourists cannot rent cars to get around. You can travel the length of the island on rented scooters or use one of the public buses. You can purchase day passes for public transportation once you arrive in port or you can pay per ride. There are also ferries available to shuttle you around Bermuda.

Start packing those sunglasses and that swimwear for the annual pilgrimage to escape the shocking weather at Britain’s festivals.

The pound has collapsed but there’s still sure to be a large contingent of Brits heading to sunnier climes for their music festival fix this year.

Some countries, especially in eastern Europe, are still much cheaper than the UK and ticket prices often cost half that of the larger homegrown affairs.

One of Europe’s oldest festivals, the 35th Rock Werchter festival has an impressive lineup, with big name acts ranging from Coldplay and the Killers to Elbow and the Prodigy.

Not exactly exotic but easy to get to, it’s a short hop by Eurostar to Brussels and on to Leuven where shuttle buses will whisk you to the site.
